  2005 US Summer Camp

From July 13 to July 28, 2005, 8 BCCSC G10 students guided by Ms. Ren Lirong joined US Summer Camp organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Exchange Centre. Students visited 7 states and 6 cities from west to east, excluding WashingtonDC. The 7 states and 6 cities are California, Nevada, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey; Los Angeles, Santiago, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York City.

During the stay in L.A., students joined the summer camp exchange program organized by Community Family Centre. There, they participated in various activities with local students and experienced how American teenagers spent their summer holidays. Through this exchange program, our students helped American students to know more about China. At the same time, they also learned a lot from American students such as love, dedication, and responsibility.

The photography students took recorded the wonderful experiences and happy moments during their stay in the United States. They also took photos of beautiful nature views and famous American buildings such as the White House, Capitol, UN headquarter, Museum, Memorial, and Museum of Fine Arts.

General speaking, this exchange summer camp brings students opportunities to enhance social acceptability and to learn more about American society and people. It also helped our students to broaden the field of vision, to increase knowledge, and to build up friendship. During this trip, students benefited from oral English practice and trainings in independent thinking, problem solving, and how to live on their own. After the summer camp, students realized the importance of learning English better.

This is an unforgettable summer camp.
