Mrs. Carson was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada graduating from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Teaching Degree, a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Masters in Education Degree in Curriculum. She has been an educator in the New Brunswick public school system for 33 years, 16 years of which have been in school administration. Mrs. Carson has taught at all levels and is especially interested in improving student literacy by encouraging a learning environment rich in oral language, literature, and written expression. She has worked with her colleagues to find creative ways to use technology to support student learning, and in doing so, in 2005 her Middle School was named one of the top ten Middle Schools in Canada for its innovative use of technology.
