2005 2nd annual ¡§Sino-Canada Culture Festival¡¨ Concluded Successfully

On Dec 25, 2005, BCCSC 2005 2 nd annual ¡§Sino-Canada Culture Festival¡¨ finally finished successfully after almost one and a half month .

This festival was wonderful. Its purpose was improving students overall quality, promoting our school advance culture, creating our school culture environment and gaining Chinese, Canadian teachers and students communication. This annual culture festival theme was ¡§Building New Civilization Amenity, Creating Economy Harmonious Schoolyard¡¨. All the activities were based on this theme total 22 events. Teachers, students and staff including Korean students participated this festival. In this festival, 695 students were awarded, 247 group awarded including dormitory.

On this project, we arrange ¡§Sino-Canada Elegant Demeanor¡¨ Civilization Amenity Star contest, ¡§Our point of view of Civilization Campus¡¨ Creativity Design Competition, Dormitory ¡§Warmly Homestead¡¨ contest, ¡§Chinese Food Culture¡¨ Contest, ¡§ Creating Economy Harmonious Schoolyard¡¨ project, ¡§Beijing Hu Ton Culture Experience¡¨, Grade 11 Drama Performance and ¡§Red Leaf Cup¡¨ Articles Competition.

At the same time, we also arrange the wonderful activities. Such as 6 th annual KTV Competition, Boy's Basketball Competition, ¡§Culture Festival¡¨ Soccer Competition, Tennis Competition, Chinese Elocution Competition, Comic Competition, Winter Tug of War Competition.

Beijing Folk Culture discovered in the 2 nd annual ¡§Sino-Canada Culture Festival¡¨ brought the learning of the Chinese traditional culture from the classroom to the society. Grade 10 language teachers brought students from the classroom to the society, walk into Hu Ton and experiencing a different Hu Ton culture. During this society practice course, students took more than 1800 photos to create the prolegomena, postscript, note and demonstrative of 56 art albums; 358 articles about the Hu Ton culture; conducted a monograph showcase; executed and set out the courseware and created a lot of Beijing traditional art works. Through this special event, students during investigate, visit and interview can create a historic responsibility about the traditional culture, increased team spirit and practical manual control ability. It also built up the fair, democracy and active relationship between teachers and students.

Literature performance and sport competitions were the major part of this festival which included: 6 th annual KTV Competition, ¡§Chinese Food Culture¡¨ Contest, ¡§Sino-Canada Elegant Demeanor¡¨ Civilization Amenity Star Contest, Halloween series events, Tennis Competition, ¡§Culture Festival¡¨ Soccer Competition, Boy's Basketball Competition, 6 th annual Chinese Chess Competition, Winter Tug of War Competition, Rope Skipping and Kicking Shuttlecock Competition, Closing ceremony and 2006 New year party.

¡§Chinese Food Culture¡¨ Contest was organized by Students Union and General Affair. This event was entertaining and integrating activity to bear and develop Chinese food culture. This two days event included gourmet performance, dumpling and gourmet cooking. Students invited judges to evaluate. Our school Mr. Andy Truong, Director of Operations, Colin Childs, Canadian Principal, Canadian Teachers, Chinese Senior management and Chinese teachers participated the event.

The 2 nd annual ¡§Sino-Canada Culture Festival¡¨ was hosting at the Lecture Theater on Dec 25, 2005. Mr. Meng Xuejun, Executive Principal, delegated the school for the speech and congratulated the successful for this festival. Mr. Andy Truong gave a New Year greeting to everyone. Dr. Francis Pang and our school leaders watching the New Year welcome performance from the committee and Students Union after the ceremony. During the show, Dr. Francis Pang and the school leaders went to each class to celebrate with the students.

Overall the festival was organized preciseness and the time arrangement is acceptable. Basically it met our goal.
