  An Outstanding Achievement in GALOIS Contest

 

The Galois Mathematics Contest is a state-level international competition in Canada, which is named after the famous mathematician Galois. This contest is held once a year on the third Tuesday of April by the Canadian National Computer and Mathematics Education Centre which referred to CEMC. It mainly faces to the senior students in Grade 10, which contains 4 problems out of 40 points. The aim of this contest is to provide an opportunity for students to develop their mathematical problem solving ability through a written mathematical activity, and also for the selection of Canadian Olympic athletes in the future. Now, it becomes more important and useful for the international students who want to declare the famous universities in Canada even apply their scholarships.

In a total of 52 students took part in this Galois contest on the date of April 17 in 2008. In an excellent result we have 26 winners accounting for 50% of a total number of participants. The tutors are Yi-xia zi, Liu yan
