All teachers and students gathered together in the Chinese Teachers¡¯ Cafeteria on May 13th, 2010 to hold the ¡°coming of age¡± ceremony. Several teachers and leaders attended this ceremony; such as, Irwin Lamper, a Judge in NB, and the representative of teachers and parents, Madam Xue: The executive principal of BCCSC gave a speech on the ceremony. She stated the meaning of the ¡°coming of age¡± ceremony and her thinking about the responsibility of ¡°coming of age¡±. She encouraged students that although there must be thousands of difficulties in their lives, do not be afraid; please believe that you can gain success finally. She also stressed that students should take on their own duties and obligations, take responsibility for our society, our family and our country. Madam Xue encouraged them to try their best to improve themselves and to be helpful citizens. On behalf of all Gr.12 students¡¯ parents, Mr. Li Dengke gave everybody there a very impressive speech. On behalf of students, Chang Feng from Gr.12-2 gave us a speech named ¡°turn my hand to duty with an indebted mood.¡± He communicated all Gr.12 students¡¯ inner world from his words. On behalf of BCCSC teachers, Mr. Zhang Jinhai expressed his best wishes to all students. Leaders who attended this activity, foreign guest and teachers issued P.R.China¡¯s constitution, commemorative badge, and card to all students.
In front of P.R. China flag, all students swore sincerely that they aspired to be a socialist citizen who has dreams, morality, knowledge and discipline. They pleased to follow constitution and adult, love socialistic motherland, and support Chinese Communist Leaders. They will exert citizen¡¯s right correctly, carry out citizen¡¯s obligation actively, follow the social morality voluntarily. They will help others, contribute to our society, respect science, aspire to great knowledge, improve their personality, make their body strong, and fight for P.R China¡¯s democracy, civilization, and career. Mr. Irwin Lampert from NB gave us a speech. He hopes for students to decide on their life¡¯s direction, and offer their power and brightness for our environment, peace, health, safety and continuing development.
