The First Plenary Session of BCCSC's Curriculum Reform Committee

On the afternoon of Nov 5, 2004, all members of BCCSC Curriculum Reform Committee took part in the first plenary session with Dr. Franics Pang, Principal Wang, Executive Principal Meng, and all the members of school curriculum development team.

The meeting started with the report of Mr. Wu Qu, the executive director of curriculum reform committee. From four aspects, he briefly introduced the philosophy, measures, present status, plan and expectation of the building of our school curriculum system. Then, the six teachers of the curriculum development team – Wang Youcai, Jia Rui, Wu Mo, Ma Ge, Li Mei, and Song Aiying – respectively reported their work and progress. Ms. Li Daqi made a special speech On the East and West English Teaching. After a careful discussion in the meeting, first 6 school courses were decided to open. They are Chemistry in Life, Introduction to Canadian Law, Canadian Mathematics Contests, Physics Contest Tutoring, Enjoying Famous Foreign Literature Work, Traditional Chinese Culture, and History and Culture of Beijing. Work of the curriculum reform in the near future is also planned at the meeting. The committee members and our teachers are trying their best to make great achievements from the teaching reform and add more brilliance to the 10 th Anniversary of our school.

At the end of the meeting, Principal Wang made a summary speech. He restated the goal, the principal and the scientific classification of our construction of the school curriculum system. He ensured the “three guarantees” the school offering – program guarantee, policy guarantee, and resource guarantee.

Francis Pang also spoke at the meeting. He encouraged all the participants to work together for the construction of BCCSC's unique school curriculum system.
