Grade 12's Visit to Grand View Garden
To explore for more about Hong Lou Meng (A Dream of Red Mansions), one of Four Great Chinese Classics, our Grade 12 students made a trip to the GrandViewGarden, where the novel is set.The trip is one part of BCCSC's Characteristic curriculum of Chinese.
During the visit, the students carefully watched the layout and style of the grand garden, in order to find out the answers to assignments designed by their teachers.Invited by the leader of the garden, our students attended a nice course of lectures about the affections among Baoyu, Baiyu, and Baochai, three main characters in the novel.It is most unforgettable for the kids that during the lectures, they ad-libbed two dramas of 'Baiyu & Daiyu Reading the Book of the Romance of West Chamber' and 'Baocha Catching Butterflies', which were greatly loved by the audience.
This exploring trip was reported by four major newspapers. They were Beijing Evening News, Jinghua Times, the First, and Beijing Noon Times.When the reporters talked with Ms. Xue Mei, our Chief Academic Administrator, they agreed that it is a teaching innovation to combine site visit, special lectures, student-teacher interaction, and drama show with reading the book of this great novel. |  |
