Principal’s Award Banquet 2007

The annual Principal’s Award Banquet was held in the Staff Cafeteria on Thursday April 26.As with each passing year, it was bigger and better than ever.At the celebration there were 160 guests and award recipients.Special guests included the coach and 3 members of the Canadian Olympic Wrestling Team.This year’s event saw an increase in the number of awards to a total of 18 as well the introduction a new award named in honour of the school’s founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Francis Pang.Further, 2007 saw the creation of several permanent trophies honouring student achievement.The permanent trophies recognize at grades 10, 11&12 academic achievement and outstanding students.The most prestigious trophy “The Doctor Francis Pang Award” recognizes the person who in his/her three years has come to best embody the spirit/ideals of BCCSC: Wisdom, Aspiration, Perseverance, and Virtue.                      

　　Kudos for the success in making this year’s awards banquet must be directed towards several individuals and groups.Without their dedication and hard work this year’s phenomenal success would not have been possible.Special thanks go to Ms. Kirsten Kirkpatrick and Vice-Principal TIAN Zhenzhou. Their

　　dedication and hard work were invaluable in seeing that all the parts came together and resulted in a most successful evening.Not only do I speak for myself, but also the attendees when I offer great thanks and appreciation to the management and staff of the Food Services Department for their contribution to the evening’s success. Further, I would like to thank the student volunteers who helped to make the whole awards presentation ceremony go off without a hitch.They made it look so easy. Also, I would like to say a special thank you to Peter Chen for his artwork and to our entertainers Kerri LEI and William Geng. The three of them made the evening extra special.Finally, my sincerest thanks go out to the 3 fine young people who acted as hosts for the gala evening. They are Skye LU, Nirvana CHEN & Lawrence JUNG.For me, it was a pleasure working with such a fine group of individuals and seeing all the plans and their hard work come together to create such a successful evening.
