Research activity of BCCSC-------“closing to Beinng Hutong”

On October 29, 2010, under the direction of  Madam Xue, Miss Li Mingchun, and Mr Yang from ACCSC, all the grade 10 students  and teachers from BCCSC were invited to study a “Hutong”, located near Houhai  and Nan Luo Gu Xiang, in order to continue their studies of “Beijing Hutong  Civilization”. This activity brought students into a real Beijing Hutong and  achieved the goal of studying Hutongs in a meaningful way.

As students visited more  than 16 Hutongs around Nan Luo Gu Xiang, they experienced and further  understood Hutong life which they have been studying through textbooks and the  media. During this activity, students showed high interest in Hutong  civilization. They wandered alleys, took photographs to remember the trip,  learned more history from some old men and heard more about Hutongs from their  teachers.

Students walked from Mao  Er Hutong to Yan Dai Street, stopped on Yingding  Bridge, experienced the charm and  culture of Beijing  and gathered together at the residence of Guo Moruo to remember this great  master of literature.

During this activity, all  the students from Gr.10 behaved very well. They wore clean and tidy clothes and  showed their polite and proper behavior to all the visitors. At the end of this  activity, there were many good comments from students, teachers and Hutong  residents.
