Teachers and students from BCCSC organized fundraising activities to help the victims in southwest drought area and Yu Shu

At the beginning of 2010, 5 provinces of China(3 of which were Yun Nan, Gui Zhou, Chong Qing,) were faced with unprecedented drought. The Central Committee of the Communist and Young Pioneers Work Committee Gave notice that all Youth League and Young Pioneers of all levels should follow Chairman Hu, and Party Central Committee’s recommendation that mobilize them to get involved in the action of fighting against drought. The Youth League of BCCSC organized the activity of donating to help the victims from southwest drought area. BCCSC Union also coordinated this activity among teachers. All teachers and students tried their best to help people from the drought area.

In Yu Shu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qing Hai Province there took place a 7.1-magnitude earthquake. It damaged the properties and life of people there. When we got the news of this serious disaster, the Youth League and Party Branch of BCCSC called upon all teachers and students to donate again, and gained support from teachers and students. Some students’ contributions have reached 2000 RMB already. Our Canadian teachers and Korean students also organized the activity of donation by themselves. They wore white Red Cross T-shirts, and publicized the spirit of Red Cross motto of “Humanism, Love, and Contribution.” The students from Gr.10-AP1 used their spare time to hold an activity, a Charity Sale, together with Student Union in order to collect contributions to help the victims in Yu Shu. The students from the warm-hearted Union developed an activity. Students signed cards to let the people of Yu Shu know the blessings from all teachers and students of BCCSC.

The contributions of these two donations are 80,000 RMB. This shows our teachers’ and students’ charitable spirit when we are facing serious disasters.
