Yubin congratulated BCCSC graduates for their hard working and success

Dear Teachers & Friends at BCCSC;

June, early summer, it's the time for new graduates to go to Canada to study. How time flies! It is also the third year for us, the 3 rd year graduates who came to Canada to make our dream come true. Although we are in a foreign country, we always remember our former school. We are happy to see and proud of the achievements of the school and its students. When I surfed the internet recently, I learned that among the new graduates, 80% of BCCSC students have received the scholarships between $5,000 -$20,000 Cdn . I was deeply moved and inspired by their efforts and endeavours. I want to say: Congratulations! We are so proud to have such schoolmates as you.

Being accepted into a Canadian post-secondary institution is the first step to succeed in the next period your life. But life in Canada is not as easy as you may imagine it to be. The compressive stress here is no less than in China . The failure rate at university reaches 50%. A lot of students leave university in the middle of their education. I am studying at the University of Calgary , majoring in electrical engineering. I will soon finish my third year courses. A lot of friends from our country gave up the education here and went back to China because they could not adapt to the atmosphere here. I hate to see them go. I feel sorry for them leaving, I think of you --- the new graduates from BCCSC. I hope you decide to face the difficulties and challenges in daily life and in your studies in Canada . However, if there are challenges, there will be a lot of opportunities waiting. You will succeed as long as you work hard. Although studying science may be difficult at the University of Calgary , there are many chances to go out of the school to experience internship, perhaps the most in Canada . Many students like us who are just finishing up 3 rd year can obtain internships in big companies such as IBM, Microsoft, up to one year. Then return to school to finish ones fourth year courses. So, coming to study abroad is a big challenge to all of you. The road to success is sometimes rocky, but if you are willing to work hard, you are sure to succeed.

In my spare time, I made have a web site- www.ucalgary.ca/~shayu . It is mainly to introduce the city and the college where I live to anyone who is interested. I hope this information can help those who want to go to Calgary . Since my time is so limited, the website is not quite as well organized as I would like it to be., Please be patient, it is a work in progress.

Lastly, I wish all the 8 th year graduates of BCCSC a bright future. And I hope for the continued success of BCCSC and its future graduates!
