HiMCM

BCCSC students  participated in the thirteenth annual High School Mathematics Competition in Modeling  (HiMCM) this year.? Our four teams  competed in English in a thirty-six hour competition along with 295 teams from  around the world.? Each team was given a  complex real world problem and 36 hours to arrive at a solution.? Solutions were submitted in English along  with graphs and charts to illustrate the data generated, to the National  Council of Teachers of Mathematics in the US.

Three of our teams  successfully completed the task and were recognized for their work.? Our fourth team was singled out for the  quality of their solution and was granted Honorable Mention Status.? The students were evaluated on Mathematical  understanding and use, and their ability to communicate complex solutions in  English.?
