2012-2013 The Opening Ceremony of Duke of Edinburgh's Award (International Youth Award) was held successfully

The Opening Ceremony of Duke of Edinburgh's Award (International Youth Award) was held successfully on September 6, 2012. There were several leaders attended the ceremony, they are, Mr. Tian Zhenzhou, Miss Ma Xiaiokui, Mr. Tyler Green, Mr. Luo Yulong and homeroom teachers. Mr. Luo Yulong resided over the ceremony.                  

   Tyler Green gave students a speech about the history of Duke of Edinburgh's Award (International Youth Award). This Award was set up by Prince Philip UK in 1956. It was set up for encouraging youth between 14 years old and 25 years old to attach importance to their self development and leadership kill. This Award is a challenging and promising item which was divided into three Prize, Golden Silver and Bronze. All the participants should attend five activities for practicing their own living skill include, Community Service, New Skills, Physical Fitness, Outdoor Adventure and other place' residence. If students can win this award, they will earn more chances to get the admission from their Universities in dream and can get uncommon opportunities to work in well-known international organizations.

   Zhao Hai, the Winner talked about his feelings and experiences. He said that the process of being a part of Duke of Edinburgh's Award provided him lots of chances to learn from social works and to practice his courage and skill. The experience of attending excursion provided each of the members a chance to be the leader of the team. It is a great challenge for their leadership and communication skill. They need to discuss the division of labor etc. They got lost, encountered the bad weather, and got something wrong with their health but they learned how to help and encourage each other.

   Miss Ma Xiaokui introduced the requirements and rules of our school at last. The ceremony was held successfully.
