Students and teachers were awarded prizes in the 4th National High School Leadership Competition

The 4th National High School Leadership Competition was held at NO. 101 Middle School from July 24th to 29th, 2013. This competition is held once a year, starting from 2009, which followed the key issues of the Chinese Society of Education. There were more than 800 students and teachers from 26 provinces attended this competition.
Under the leadership of Miss Wang Yiting, the teacher who is in charge of the students’ leadership courses, Zhang Da, from 11-3, Weng Mengyu and Qiao Youying, from 10-AP2, Ji Zhaoxuan and Zhang Qiru from 10-4 attended the 4th National High school students’ Leadership Competition. To perform well in the contest, all the students and teachers prepared it carefully. Under the excellent cooperation, our school made a number of good results. Qiao Youying and Weng Mengyu received the Best Improved Public Policy Award. Miss Wang Yiting received the Excellent Faculty Advisors Award. The Activities of helping vulnerable groups, which was held by BCCSC received the Second Prize among Excellent Items. The Competition Committee also awarded our school the honorary title of High School Leadership Training Outstanding School.
The leadership course was developed as electives, which allowed students from grade 10 and 11 to attend. It is different from other traditional courses, which put emphasis on the ability to learn and think on students’ own initiative. The target of this course is to engage more students to care about the society and others; improve the public policies in real sense by making plans and attending social practice; cultivate students’ sense of responsibility and the ability to carry out their obligations by helping vulnerable groups; and providing services and solve the given social problems with the knowledge they’ve learned.
Our school leaders always put weight on the development of Leadership course, which proves the educational philosophy of cultivating international talents. We all believe that under the great support of our leaders, there will be more students getting the opportunity to improve their abilities, which will help them to go to well-known Universities inside and outside of China.
