BCCSC’s the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Adventurous Journey (Bronze Prize; Sliver Prize)
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award started in 1956, which has an international level, was admitted by many international organizations, more than 100 famous universities and other social institutions. In the mainland of China, BCCSC is the first school to join in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. As so far, almost 100 students have applied for the awards. Having The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and high school diplomats, students will have more opportunities to enter famous universities. Also, after graduation, students will receive more chances to work in international companies. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award has three levels: Gold Prize, Silver Prize and Bronze Prize, involving four aspects: Service; Skills; Physical Fitness and Adventures.
BCCSC cooperated with Beijing Oriental XINSEN Training Company to organize the “Adventurous Journey” on June 2-5 and 16-19. Under the guidance of Mr. Wang Hui from the Students’ Administrative Office, students who applied for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards participated in the four days’ “Adventurous Journey” at TIAN CHI XIA Gorge in Huairou District.
This “Adventurous Journey”, which was undertaken by Beijing Oriental XINSEN Training Company, was divided into two levels: A and B, including “Team Establishments”, “Outdoor Skills Training”, “Picnic”, “Bonfire Party” and so on. Through these kinds of activities, students learned to how to overcome the difficulties in the outdoors; collected experience of living in outdoors; and enhanced their indomitable spirits.
