Explore the Organic Farm , Cherish the Fruits of the Labor

According to the policy of Beijing Educational Committee and the Communist Young League, Beijing Concord School organized Grade 1 and Grade 4 students to visit BCCSC’S organic farm on May 27, 2016. Mr. James Tian, Executive Principal joined the visit.  

The students departed our school at 8:00 a.m. On the bus, the homeroom teachers explained the safety issues regarding this visit to the students on the bus. Under the guidance of the farmer, the students visited the vegetable greenhouse, in which tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, and chilies are grown. The farmer told students that the fertilizer for the vegetables. The fish in the fishpond also benefit from the BCCSC kitchen scrapes were made of kitchen leftovers from BCCSC, which can reduce environmental pollution.

Students picked up ripe vegetables being careful to not damage the plants. On the school bus, students were looking forward to tell their new knowledge about the farm to their parents.

This activity was completed successfully. Primary school students learned to save food. Thanks to all the staff in the farm and the parents involved.
