BCCSC Teachers and Students Participated in the “Round Square Global Conference 2016.”

The representatives group of BCCSC left China to Germany for the “Round Square Global Conference”, which lasted a week. The instructor Ms. Hujjing and the students: Wen Jinhao, HaogGaoming, ChenJiayu, Huyue participated this conference.

This “Round Square Global Conference” was held in German Louisenlund. More than 200 teachers and 300 students from more than 20countries and 75 schools participated in the conference. With the thesis of “The Journey That Makes Us”,this conference encouraged students to explore their potential abilities, to think about the journey of life, to make effort to change the journey of life, and enrich the journey.

On the second day of arrival, during the opening ceremony of this conference, the sponsor school presented dancing and singing to us. 75 school flags were waving in the gymnasium. In the afternoon, students participated in the ice-breaking activities and made new friends.  

On the second day of the conference, October 2 is the “Service Day”, students were divided into different groups. Some of them went to a forest, some of them went to a fire brigade, and some of them stayed at the school to set up tents.

The third day of the conference is “Adventure Day”. The students navigated in the sea, which was a significant experience and enhanced their adventure awareness.

During the conference, 5 famous speakers brought meaningful speeches. Ben Saunders, a famous British explorer, shared his experiences of his round Antarctic polar journey, which is record-braking. He spoke about that the most important things during his travel is the process, not the destination. Ms. Souad Mekhennet, a journalist for the “Washington Post”, shared her experience of her interviews with the Middle Eastern terrorists. She told students that they should never give up and they will realize their dreams. Mr. Sari Samakie, one of the victims during the Syria's civil war, told his twice experience of being hijacked. All the students were moved by his stories.

On the last night of the conference, all the students presented wonderful performances, which showed different cultures and traditions. BCCSC students return to BCCSC on October 17.

The memberships of “Round Square” include more than 100 schools. Every year more than 10 new memberships join in “Round Square”. BCCSC is the first global school to join in “Round Square” in China. Science its establishments in 2012, BCCSC has been devoted to integrating the six ideas (Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership, Service) to its education working.
