BCCSC Halloween Activity

The BCCSC Round Square Committee organized G11and G10 students to cave pumpkins on Oct.31, 2017.

The custom of caving pumpkin originated from Ireland. There was a story about the caving pumpkin. A man, named Jack, he was a drunkard and liked playing tricks. One day, Jack kidnaped the monster to stay on the tree and cave a cross on the tree. The monster wanted to climb down from the tree but he was afraid of the cross on the tree. So he made an agreement with Jack: he promised Jack that he could not let Jack crime. After death, Jack’s spirit can not go the heaven, can not go the hell, ethier. The only place he can stay was in the candle on a pumpkin. People call the lantern “Jack Lantern”.

G11students caved many kinds of pumpkin lanterns and put them on campus. Other students put cradles on the pumpkins.
