BCS Grade 7 Students Visited Beijing Botanical Garden

Green represents life, health, vitality, and hope. Life in the 21st century is closely related to green. Green is not only a landscape of trees and flowers, but also a symbol of safety, health and cleanliness.

In order to look for famous plants and learn about plants, BCS Grade 7 teachers and students went to the institute of botany of the Chinese academy of sciences. Before the activity, the teacher assigned the students the task of visiting and learning, so as to better they can conduct exploratory learning while visiting.

Walking into the garden, students can see a lively scene. They can appreciate and know some woody plants, herbs and aquatic plants along the way. In April, the peony and paeonia lactiflora in the park were opening up in a race of bright and beautiful flowers and graceful manners. These two famous Chinese flowers attracted many students to stop by. During the visit, the teacher introduced the names and identification methods of plants to the students, and there were many legends and myths about plants in the explanation, which increased their interest in plants.

This activity strengthened the students’ environmental awareness and gave them the opportunity to contact with nature. They learned a lot.
