BCCSC Delegates Attended in the Round Square Global Conference 2018 in Canada
Round Square has more than 100 famous schools all over the world. BCCSC is the first global member school of Round Square in China. Since 2012, BCCSC has been devoting to integrating “Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service” into our education and teaching work.
The BCCSC delegates departed for Montreal, Canada on September 20 to attend the Round Square international conference. Ms. Sun Yan, the guidance teacher; Li Zihao, from Grade12 of BCCSC, and He Qiong Jie , from Grade 11, attended the conference.
This global conference was organized by Lower Canada College, in Montreal. More than 400 representatives from more than 20 countries attended the conference. The theme of this conference was "Bring Your Difference". The purpose of this conference was to let teenagers from all over the world to find their own unique features and improve their self-affirmation and self-confidence.
The first day of the conference: the opening ceremony was in the morning. The students performed elaborate dances and songs. The flag-bearer of BCCSC waved the school flag to enter the stadium. More than 70 school flags fluttered in the stadium, which was very magnificent .In the afternoon, the students worked in groups to break the ice and made new friends through communication.

The second day of the conference: students actively participated in the discussion on the theme of "Bring Your Difference". Mr. Wade Davis gave a wonderful speech. Mr. Wade Davis is the Professor of Anthropology and the BCS Leadership Chair in Cultures and Ecosystems at Risk at the University of British Columbia. He is also the author of 20 books and received the George Ryga Award for Social Awareness. In this speech, he told the attendees through his personal experience: no matter how normal you are at the moment, just affirm yourself, don't give up yourself, and discover your own uniqueness. Sooner or later, you will become excellent.
The third day of the conference: in the morning, Dr. Amal Elsana Alh Jooj delivered a wonderful speech and fully interacted with the student representatives. Dr Amal Elsana Alh Jooj was the co-executive Director of Arab-Jewish Center for Equality). She currently serves as the organization’s Director of North American Relations. In the afternoon, all the participants took buses to Jouvence resort.
The fourth day of the conference: teachers and students at Jouvence participated in many outdoor activities: go boating, rock climbing, forest expeditions, guessing contests, passing relays, etc., and a campfire party was held in the evening. The students sang and danced excitedly.

The fifth day of the conference: the participants continued outdoor adventures in the morning: cross the canoe bridge, rope climbing, pull the circle competition, and returned to the downtown in the afternoon. In the evening, the conference’s closing ceremony and art performance were held. Students from different countries showed the culture and traditions of different regions and countries through dancing, music and unique visual presentation.
