Tencent interviewed Ms. Xue Mei, the principal of BEIJING Concord School.

Emcee：Welcome to 2018 Tencent International School Annual VIP Interview. Nice to see you, Ms.

Xue Mei :Nice to meet you!

Emcee：Please introduce yourself to our friends.

Xue Mei :Hello everyone! I am XueMei, the principal of BEIJING Concord School.

Emcee：How do you feel for today’s interview?

Xue Mei :I would like to share my education experience with you. This interview is a kind of encourage for me.

Emcee：How long have you been working on education?

Xue Mei : It’s 50 years.

Emcee：50 years? Woo.

Xue Mei : I worked in a public school for 30years and I came to Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada when I was 50 years old.

Emcee：Got it. 。

Xue Mei :I have been working on Sino-foreign cooperation in education for 22 years.

Emcee：What’s the biggest change do you think during the 22 years?

Xue Mei :There are many stages of international education. It is a huge change during 2017 to 2008. During these years, international education has been acknowleged by more and more Chinese people. They dissatisfied the traditional education.

Emcee：Some people think it is a tough road for Chinese children to study abroad. What do you think?

Xue Mei :International education is not only mean to learn English and study abroad, but also teach the students the skills and abilities of adaptation to the world and the society. I think, it is difficult for studying abroad. Firstly, our children grow up from a very comfortable family and they need to learn how to be independent. Secondly, the international schools’ abroad demands become higher than before. Thirdly, more and more international school appeared in China. The competition between international schools becomes fiercer.

Emcee：As you mentioned the competition, what kinds of measures does your school take?

Xue Mei :We pay more attention on the innovation; We develop more international courses, including IB course, A level.

Emcee： What kinds of characteristics of AI technology?

Xue Mei : I think, in the future, education is supposed to conclude: Firstly, education standards should be more multiple. Secondly, teachers should be the promoter of independent study; lastly, more courses are supposed to be arranged.

Emcee： individuation.

Xue Mei :Most of the international the courses can be shared by the internet. We should share the teaching materials. International schools in China will not only transfer Chinese students to study abroad, but also will receive international students from other countries. We learn English while foreigners learn Chinese. This is the tendency of education in the future.

Emcee：I think, everyone has different characteristics while every school has different characteristics. What’s your ideal of running school?

Xue Mei : I have been devoting to education for almost 50 years. We cultivated many international talents with Chinese characteristics. That’s what I am pursuing.

Xue Mei :You are right.
