The 4th Young Teacher Analyzing-lesson Skills Competition of BCS and BCCSC was Completed with a Big Success

The 4th young teacher analyzing-lesson skills competition of BCS and BCCSC took place from April 18-22. It was a successful competition with wonderful contests. Meanwhile, it was a valuable demonstration and a far-reaching social activity.

The 4th young teacher analyzing-lesson skills competition was held to enhance the commutations between young teachers. Young teachers of 35 years old participated in the competition. Lesson analyzing and normal class were included. Teachers were required to prepare the lesson analyzing from 7 aspects which were textbook, students, goals, methods, modes, design and black board writing. 14 teachers got to the final competition.

The final competition took place from April 18-22, hosted by Mr Ma Ge, Vice principal. The judging panel consisted of executive director, executive principal, vice principal, teaching department, human resources department, academic committee, school evaluation committee and directors of various departments. All of them were responsible for scoring and commenting on the spot.

Mr. Andy Truong, the executive director, delivered a warm speech. Young teacher is the future of the school and the teaching skills are basic skills. The young teacher analyzing-lesson skills competition had been held for four years since 2016. The school attaches great importance to this work. Last year, the Young Teacher Training Center was established. And the International Education Leadership Training Center will be established this year. Young teachers were encouraged to ask for advice from experienced teachers, and help each other. He wish them a complete success!

Every teacher prepared carefully for the competition. They fully explored the new curriculum requirements and teaching materials, showed their unique teaching methods and teaching process, and participated in the class competition with full passion. The classes presented by the teachers mainly reflected the following characteristics:

1. The teaching philosophy of the class teacher is relatively new. In this competition, most teachers have changed the traditional teaching methods, which truly reflect the idea of teaching with philosophy. In the class design, the task-driven method, independent inquiry method, cooperative learning method, resource learning method, etc. are used to actively create a space for students to fully express their individuality, so that students can fully enjoy the class. A “double-master teaching model” with students as the main body and teachers as the mainstay was formed. The class pays more attention to self-autonomous, cooperative discovery of problems, inquiry of problems, ability to solve problems.

2. The teachers focused on the characteristics of the subject, encouraging the students to participate in the practice activities. They analyzed the teaching materials in a good way. The choice of teaching methods suits the students' actual situation, and the teaching design is consistent. It demonstrated the art of class and strong teaching material processing ability, which highlighted the outstanding teaching talents of young teachers in our school.

3. The teaching process was clear. The teaching methods were clearly defined. The teaching process linked naturally and the structure was complete. There was a corresponding understanding of the writing ideas of the textbooks. The establishment of the goals reflected the concept of the new curriculum standards.

4. The use of multimedia is efficient. The role of information technology in education has gradually changed from the initial auxiliary position to deep integration with the subject. The effective use of new media and new technologies in the classroom is also a highlight of this competition. The teachers' curriculum design was novel, reasonable, advanced, which fully exerted the intelligent teaching of our school. The advantages and special functions not only make the content visual and intuitive, but also make it easier for students to understand and accept. Moreover, it can make full use of advanced technology and students to carry out interactive teaching activities, and achieve an efficient and intelligent classroom.

Finally, Mr. Tian Zhenzhou, the executive principal, made a wonderful comment on the performance of the teachers. First of all, he gave full affirmation to the young teachers who attended the class. He pointed out that the teachers were fully prepared, teaching objectives and structures were complete. He also gave suggestions to young teachers. Firstly, we must establish the quality standard. Secondly, we have to establish a quality concept based on subject. Thirdly, we must have an innovative view of overall design. Young teachers were encouraged to learn with humility, make full use of the school platform, and pay special attention to the core status of academic quality. The evaluation requirements were clarified. The second stage of normal teaching competition will be carried out with it.

The competition has aroused strong repercussions among the teachers of our school. It has built a platform for young teachers to enhance the professional development. We look forward to the better performance in the classroom. The young teachers will keep on making efforts to the professional development of the individual and the sustainable development of the school.
