My Experience in Young Teachers Teaching Skills Competition Series Report
Huo Yujia
I have been worked in BCCSC for one year. During the internship, curious children came to say hello. The teachers offered me all kinds of help and answered all kinds of naive questions patiently. With the help of the teachers and the children, I am honored to be able to stay here to work.
In September, I came back to the campus again, but this time I was no longer a stranger. I looked at the campus with excitement, and the scenery on the campus seemed to welcome me back here. A few days later, I welcomed the first students here. I was anxious. Will they like me? Will they be difficult to discipline? Can I get along with them very well? I have a variety of question, but these problems disappeared after a few days. My children are so smart and sensible. Watching them raise their hands, listening to their childish speech, making me happy.
I participate in the competition in April. The grade 3 children are active. I chose the text “Soap Bubbles” that they are most interested in. During this period, Mr. Zhou of our group used personal time to help us collect information, which gave us great help.
With the guidance of President Zhang, I re-edited my course and constantly revised the content of the lesson. After continuous trials and revisions, I finally formed a set of teaching details that I am satisfied with.

Preparedness Ensures Success and Unpreparedness Spells Failure

I am very honored to able to participate in the competition. I met a lot of good colleagues.
I taught Chinese Poetry. I looked up information to prepare for it, and asked Teacher Liang to give me guidance. I made changes based on Teacher Liang's suggestion and practiced it several times. I prepared before on Monday, but I didn't think I could win. Later, Teacher Liang and Ren told me that my advantage is that the class structure is complete, clear, but my shortcoming is that the language is not concise, there are repetitions, there are spoken words, and it may be because of nervousness, the speed of speech is a bit fast. I know that language has always been a shortcoming for me, so I am consciously practicing my own language when preparing for the finals.
I decided to teach ‘half piece of paper’. The preparation process is difficult. I have found a lot of relevant information from the Internet. I didn't have a clear idea at the beginning, and I was also anxious. Later, I calmed down and then began to design the teaching process. The introduction of the text is very important. I selected a small poem related to the content of the text. The idea is to understand the content of the text first, and then summarize the topic of the article. I prepared some questions according to this idea. Teacher Liang reminded me to pay attention to the validity of the question, imagine the questions that the students might answer after the question was raised, how I should respond and so on.
The days of the lectures finally came. I saw the camera behind the classroom and filled the leaders and teachers who attended the lectures. I was excited and nervous. I was not satisfied with my class.
Secondly, I was unable to cope with emergencies in the classroom. I developed a small novel called Mark Twain, a page in the husband’s bill. The student, Wang Yujing, was very smart and explained the content of the novel. I didn't expect this. I still have to learn how to cope with this.
Firstly, the timing is not good. If I have given the student a little more time, she can answer it. Unfortunately, I was a little nervous at the time and I said the answer myself. I should have given a little hint when the students were nervous. There was a lot of time left in the room. I had to let the students do their homework in class, but this assignment was a bit difficult.
In short, I have benefited a lot from this competition. I can find many shortcomings in my own class. Only when the preparation for the lesson is sufficient, will I have the confidence to be nervous, and will not be in a hurry. Only when the preparation for the lesson is sufficient, can it cope with the various emergencies. Full preparation is the prerequisite for success.
