To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, to follow the footsteps of great men and to inherit the spirit of revolution, students of Grade 8 traveled to Changsha. (Day 2)
10月27号,小雨转中雨,师生心情大好,今天我们一天的行程都是在雨中度过的,蒙蒙细雨中,我们感受着浓浓的湖湘文化。
It rained the whole day, but teachers and students are in a good mood. In the drizzle, we shared the strong Hunan culture. The first stop of today is Shaoshan, which is the hometown of the great leader Zedong Mao and where the great man spent his teenage life, studied, worked and engaged in revolutionary activities. First, we went to visit the Bronze Statue Square, where with the lead of the host, all the teachers and students followed the soldiers, firmly walked on the red carpet step by step, offered flower basket respectfully and bowed to the great man! The experience inspired students’ strong patriotic enthusiasm.

Then we visited the former residence of Zedong Mao, where we learned the story of his childhood and the local culture. We further understood the essence of Huxiang culture, which played a key role in the education of students’ patriotism.

After lunch we went to Zedong Mao’s primary school---Dongshan Academy, which has the elegant yard. The simple and primitive classrooms show the unique artistic conception, which gave birth to the great man. It left a deep impression to all the teachers and students and has played a vital role in inspiring students’ interest in learning and stimulating students’ enthusiasm for learning.

Today’s journey ended up with a perfect full stop in a quiet self-study. Have a good rest, and tomorrow will be a beautiful day.
