2019 Duke of Edinburgh Award Outdoor Adventure Course A
BCCSC, BCS, 2019 Duke Of Edinburgh, Award Outdoor Adventure course A was successfully carried out in BCS. 61 brave partners from the middle school department of our school successfully completed the outdoor challenge for four days and three nights. The outdoor expedition requires students to work together to complete outdoor hiking, camping and other outdoor challenges. Our school cooperates with Dongfang Xinsen, a professional outdoor development company, to ensure the safety of students, so that every student can fully participate in team activities, challenge themselves, and experience the fun of outdoor exploration. During the four-day event, the friends enthusiastically devoted themselves to the whole process, advised the team, and gave full play to their potential.

After arriving at the destination on the first day, the trainer divided everyone into groups, elected the team leader, arranged the posts of the team members, compiled the team name, team flag and team song, and everyone was enthusiastic, actively participated and gave advice. Next, the trainers gave lectures on outdoor knowledge, survival techniques and methods, and gave a detailed explanation and demonstration of the use of common equipment in the expansion. For example, how to choose a camp, how to set up a tent, how to identify the direction, how to deal with animal bites, how to deal with outdoor dangers, and so on. In the whole lecture, the trainer told the students a lot of interesting stories in the field activities, so that the students here learned about a strange and novel outdoor activities.




The next day, carrying heavy bags, the students marched to the summit. The road up the mountain is very steep, the team members help each other, all unwilling to show weakness, laughter, smooth climb to the top, harvest happiness and friendship.






On the third day, trainers teach people how to make fires and find water sources in the field, so that they can master the skills of making fires, make fires in various environments, and learn to use topography to choose water sources, to learn to extract water from plants and the atmosphere, and to master the preliminary purification techniques of field water. At lunchtime, each group cooked their own meals, the team members clear division of labor, began to set their own pot, cut vegetables, pour seasonings, cooking. When they ate the food they cooked, the whole team had a sense of pride.










On the fourth day, they left camp and returned to school. Along the way, the students were very excited and acquired the basic knowledge of survival in the wild from four days of activities, so as to hone their will, cultivate their sentiment, perfect themselves, and integrate into the team. They have accumulated the experience of participating in the field survival practice, experienced the spirit of overcoming difficulties and perseverance, trusted each other and helped each other in the team, did not give up anyone, and walked hand in hand and heart to heart.
