The 23rd Student Representative Conference of our school successfully concluded

The student representative conference is the bridge and link between the school and the students. It is the organization for students to participate in school management, and represents the interests and rights of students, and fulfills their obligations. Student organization is an effective carrier for the school to implement self-management. Students get self-exercise, self-development and self-improvement from this.

On October 27, 2020, the first meeting of the BCCSC Student Representative Conference was successfully held in the lecture theatre. Executive Director Mr. Andy Truong, Canadian Vice Principal Ms. Laurel Schwartz, Vice Principal Ms. Ma Xiaokui, Deputy Director Mr. Zhang Gang and 50 high school student representatives attended the meeting. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Andy Truong delivered a speech: I hope that the representatives of the student can truly serve the students, assist and promote the education and management of the school, and hope that the student leaders will work together.

Deputy Director Mr. Zhang Gang announced the schedule of the 23rd Student Congress and the responsibilities of student representatives. They held the elections for the six new Round Square pillar leaders. The six candidates are Zhang Boxiang, Wang Qianzhi, Zhang Shenwei, Jiang Bosen, Ma Ling Dingdang, Hu Yunyun. They introduced their campaign positions and team planning. Their wonderful speeches won bursts of applause from leaders and student representatives from time to time.

Finally, Vice-principal Ms.Laurel Schwartz delivered a speech, hoping that the elected students can learn from the position and take related responsibility.

On November 3rd, the second student representatives’ conference was held in the conference room. The meeting was about the election of chairman, vice-chairman, secretary-general of the student union and the chairman, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the association. Yuying was running for the chairman of the Student Union. She showed her abilities and confidence with full enthusiasm, and briefly described her future work plan. It was followed by the election of the vice chairman of the Student Union, from Ye Yupiao. In her speech, she explained her understanding of competing positions, analysis of her own advantages and ideas for future work. Du Zhihai campaigned for the secretary-general of the Student Union. Zhang Tianyao campaigned for the chairman of student association and Zhang Jiayang for the vice chairman of student association, and Liu Ruomin campaigned for the secretary-general of the Student Union.

On November 5th, the third student representative conference of our school was held. This conference elected the Kurt Hann Prize and asked student representatives to elect four organizations from 17 student organizations.

Vice President Ma Xiaokui delivered a speech, hoping that student cadres will live up to their trust, fulfill their mission. All student representatives voted for the election. The Youth League Committee of the Student Office supervises the counting of votes.

The new class of student leaders will continue to inherit the fine traditions of our school. At the flag raising ceremony on November 23, the executive principal Mr. Tian Zhenzhou announced the establishment of the new Round Square Student Committees.
