BCS Grade 1 and Grade 2 Happy English Test

In order to make the final evaluation more in line with the age characteristics and psychological needs of lower grade students, so as to promote the harmonious development of students' body and mind and comprehensively promote quality education. On January 6, 2022, grade 1 and grade 2 of BCS carried out an interesting tour test activity for lower grades with the theme of "Happy Tour, happy evaluation".

The teachers of the School Department adhere to the sunshine evaluation method of "paying equal attention to morality and ability". For this tour test, the school leaders and all teachers in grade one and grade two held a preparatory meeting in advance to carefully design the evaluation scheme. Teachers of all subjects are even more open-minded. Combined with the characteristics of subject knowledge and the law of children's physical and mental development, they integrated Chinese, mathematics and English, designed various forms of breakthrough games, and strive to create a relaxed examination atmosphere for children.

Grade 1 test combined with the contents of the first grade textbook and the corresponding themes of each unit, school, face, animals, numbers, colors and fruit. They divided it into four modules: word paradise, oral carnival, English Calligraphy and painting room and the sound of music. The test focused on the students' four basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Children drew fruit cards from the word paradise, fostering children's interest in the game . During the oral carnival, we will conduct oral Q & A with the teacher to investigate the child's language expression ability. In the English calligraphy and painting room, children's ability to apply knowledge were evaluated, and the sound of music checked the children's expressiveness. Under the guidance of the teachers, the children carried out the test activity in an orderly manner.

Grade 2 test mainly included topics of family, classmate, friend, community, park and holidays for all the 6 units students have learned.

The Level 1 was word level - I can read and students should circle the learned words in the letter maze after reading the words. All the right respondents can get the first pass seal.

The second level was sentence - I can say. Students choose at least three colors of cardboard on the side panel to answer in English. Then students need to make the correct sentences according to the correct word order and write them on the answer sheet. Finally, they have to match the sentences. All the right respondents can get the seal of the second level.

The third level was the talent level - I can sing. Students sing the English song freely “you are my sunshine”, and those with beautiful performance can get the seal of the third level.

The fourth level was writing - I can write. Students should complete the writing and decoration of English greeting cards according to the requirements of the topic.If the writing was correct and beautiful, the fourth pass seal can be obtained.

We can see that the children are full of passion about this form of examination, and we can see that the children deal with the examination easily and calmly. With the change of examination evaluation methods, it will also promote the reform of teaching process and the improvement of teaching ideas, and put forward higher requirements for our elementary school English teachers.
