Youths, the Youthful Strength of the New Century — Series Events of Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada and Beijing Tongzhou Huaren School on Inheriting the May 4th Spirit

Youth is a song with happy and beautiful melody.

Youth is a painting with brilliant and romantic colors.

On May 4th, 1919, to dispel the darkness and fight for freedom, to awaken the country and its people, a group of high spirited and vigorous patriotic youths used their blood and life to compose a most magnificent song of youth and paint a most splendid painting of youth.

The Students’ Office and the Communist Youth League committee use the Youth Day (May 4th) and the 100 anniversary of the Communist Youth League of China as an education opportunity, focus on the theme of “Patriotism, Responsibility and Growth”, and launched the activity of “Youths — the Youthful Strength of the New Century”.

To comprehensively implement the Xi Jinping Socialism with Chinese Characteristics of the New Era, to promote the spirit of the 19th National Congress and plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, to put the important thoughts of Xi Jinping on youths into practice, to welcome and publicize the 20th National Congress, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Communist Youth League of China, to reinforce ideological education for the league members, to improve the quality of the league members and to consolidate the awareness of the league members, the branches of the Youth League committee launched the course with the theme of “Celebrate the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, follow the Party faithfully, start a new journey determinedly” and the life meeting of “the History of Youths Revolution of the Party”, thus leading the league members to follow the party faithfully, start a new journey determinedly, contribute their youthful strength to the high quality development of sub-center education and celebrate the 20th National Congress of the CPC.

The students of the junior high school Young Pioneers had the course themed “Follow the Party, Contribute to the Country”; the young activists of senior high school studied the Youth League course online. Thoughts are the foundation, spirit is the direction. Hopefully, the League members will have lofty ambitions, make step-by-step progress, be down-to-earth, be pragmatic and seek the truth, so as to enable your youth to give greater brilliance in the sacrifice for the country, for the people and for the nation!

At the end of April, the pandemic situation was serious. The students took online classes to tackle this. “Don’t go out; don’t gather; don’t go out of Beijing without absolute necessity” becomes our responsibility. “Wear facial masks, wash hands frequently, ventilate often, keep social distance, use public chopsticks” become our routine of life. As May 1st holidays and May 4th Youth Day draw near, to service the growth of youth, to enrich students’ life at home and expand their study contents, the municipal Youth League committee and the municipal commission of Young Pioneers of China released “Fight Against the Pandemic, Wait for the Blooming Flowers” cloud class.

The students express their patriotism through the blackboard newspaper and the speech under the national flag.

National Security Prioritizes Everything—A Day of National Security Education

April 15th is our day of national security education. In a time when information is highly developed, keeping national secrets is particularly important. The school launched the Competition of Blackboard Newspaper with the theme of national security education, which is of great significance to the improvement of students’ sense of responsibility and mission toward national security, and to the consolidation of mass foundation of national security.
