Series of lectures on adolescence co-held by Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada and Beijing Tongzhou Huaren School
Adolescence is the most important and splendid period in life, accompanying with the greatest physiological and psychological changes. Our parents, school and society shall help the adolescent students correctly treat their growth, calmly accept their own physiological changes, and know how to care the physiological and psychological health. With this purpose, our school participated in the activity of "helping teenagers grow up, popular science public benefit" advocated by the Youth League Committee, and invited doctors from Tongzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Beijing to give video lectures to students of grades 7-12.
On April 7, all the teachers and students of junior middle school watched the lecture "How to Manage the Emotional Storm of Adolescence". It was presented by Dr. Gao Haiyan, an intermediate psychotherapist and mental health expert in the Department of Psychology of Tongzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, mainly told the students about the characteristics of adolescent psychological development, the formation and expression of emotions, and taught them some self-adjustment methods.
On April 12, Senior High School held a lecture on "Handbook of Adolescence Practice" separately for male and female students. The lecturers were given by doctors from Tongzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Dr. Wang Min, deputy chief physician of gynecology department, and Dr. Liu Ning, pediatric attending surgeon. The two doctors explained the different characteristics of adolescent boys and girls' development, adolescent health and nutrition, how to communicate with the opposite sex and how to protect themselves.
This lecture educated the concept of health science, enriched students' health care knowledge, and encouraged students to spend the most splendid youth moment in their lives with a positive and healthy attitude in self-improvement, self-love, self-esteem and self-discipline.
