Enlighten the mind with beauty BCS Art Works Exhibition
As early as the new culture period of the May 4th Movement, Mr. Cai yuanpei put forward that "aesthetic education is the most important and basic education of outlook on life." The art education is to cultivate people's ability to recognize, experience, appreciate and create beauty, so that we have the ideal of beauty, the sentiment of beauty, the character of beauty and the accomplishment of beauty.Under the background of the double-reduction policy, art courses in our school are carefully designed to create art education in the form of project-based learning, large unit teaching, interdisciplinary cooperation and task-driven, so as to fulfill the requirements of art literacy.
The exhibition of art courses in the BCS elementary school, is not only a demonstration of the achievements of art courses in the school for one semester, but also an extension of art courses-to guide students to understand, experience and appreciate beauty by allowing them to participate in and watch exhibitions in person.The one-month exhibition is divided into two thematic exhibitions: one is a comprehensive art exhibition focusing on school quality development, art specialization, improvement classes and vocational experience learning; the other is a picture book creation exhibition carried out by the art group.
In the comprehensive exhibition hall, we can see a variety of curriculum works. There are electrician and electronics, 3D printing courses, etc. This kind of course cultivates students'innovative ability, inquiry ability and creativity through hands-on practice;Production courses, such as pottery, paper art, traditional Chinese painting, sand painting, dough sculpture, weaving art, silk pastel, silk embroidery, ancient style hand-made, clay and so on, develop students' imagination and practical ability through the use of traditional or modern media.Vocational experience project-based courses, with more innovative thematic perspectives, such as dessert shops, airlines, drinks shops, Chinese medicine stores, clothing stores, toy stores, fruit shops, flower shops, restaurants, post offices, gift shops, art galleries, etc., effectively stimulate students' interest and cultivate their autonomy and the possibility of in-depth learning.
In the professional exhibition hall, the teaching works of "Picture Book Creation" are displayed.This curriculum design is an active attempt to implement the new art curriculum standards, to carry out large unit curriculum design from the perspective of interdisciplinary teaching, to carry out the creation and adaptation of picture books of traditional festivals, folk stories and mythological stories with Chinese traditional culture as the creative carrier, so as to enable students to conceive, sketch and draft.In-depth study of artistic creation and curatorial knowledge. At the same time, it also enables students to understand the history and culture of their own nation, tell Chinese stories well, and enhance national self-confidence and pride in the process of creation.
As an important part of aesthetic education, art courses are always inseparable from "beauty". We try to let students experience, explore and practice "beauty" in art learning through various ways, and at the same time, to moisten students'body and mind with the beauty of art, to open students' wisdom of expressing and creating "beauty", so as to truly realize " enlightening wisdom with beauty".
