Lantern Shadow and Myth: Let's Go to a Lantern Shadow Play with the Theme of the Book of Mountains and Seas--- Record of the fifth grade project learning performance
There is an art, which is a complete drama, 1800 years earlier than Shakespeare's drama;
There is an art that uses images 2100 years before Lumiere invented the film;
This kind of art is China's unique type of drama-shadow play, which is known as the "shadow of China.".
Shadow play, as an ancient traditional folk art, constantly absorbs the essence of local operas, minor tunes and folk songs, and then develops into its own unique artistic charm, which is a bright pearl in the intangible cultural heritage.
In order to enrich campus cultural life, promote school-based curriculum construction, carry forward Chinese traditional culture and stimulate students' creative enthusiasm, our school combines the ancient drama form of "shadow play" with the ancient Chinese mythological book "Shanhai Jing", and combines the ancient "lamp shadow" with the ancient myth of our nation in the novel form of "project learning". Let the students feel the charm of Chinese traditional culture in the light shadow and myth.
In the process of learning, we made a series of shadow puppets of the Book of Mountains and Seas. The arrangement and performance of shadow play not only exercise our ability to cooperate, but also let us consciously and actively learn traditional culture and exercise our ability to express, so students also like the Book of Mountains and Seas and shadow play.
Under the wonderful auspices of four small hosts, the fifth grade "Shanhai Jing" theme lantern shadow play project learning report performance officially began On June 9! In the interweaving of lights and shadows, we had an experience of art and beauty.
The story of Hou Yi shooting the sun is widely known! The students of Class G5-5 vividly and interestingly showed us the process of Hou Yi shooting the sun. Zhang Kai also adapted a song to praise the great marksman Hou Yi as a little singer! The students not only made the myth more interesting, but also added song elements, which was really special.
The students of G5-3 brought us the story of Chang'e flying to the moon, watching the shadow puppet moving and jumping under the light, watching the battle of wits and courage between Chang'e and Feng Meng, and finally separating from Hou Yi's husband and wife. It made us understand that a good life does not lie in the level of status, nor in the amount of money. The most important thing is family affection. Family reunion is the happiest. "We wish each other a long life and share the beauty of this graceful moonlight, even though miles apart".
The Book of Mountains and Seas, written from the Warring States Period to the early Han Dynasty, is known as the three great books of ancient times together with the Book of Changes and the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine. The Book of Mountains and Seas contains many contents about ancient geography, history, mythology, astronomy, animals, plants, medicine, religion, anthropology, ethnology, oceanography and the history of science and technology. It is an encyclopedia of ancient social life and can also be said to be the oldest geography and humanities.It transcends the limitations of time and space, narrating magical characters, supernatural birds and animals, gardens in the region, overseas fairy mountains, and rare treasures. It vividly shows a magical picture of ancient life. It also records a variety of popular myths and legends, known as "the power of history and geography, the source of myths". Popular legends such as "Nuwa mending the sky", "Kuafu chasing the sun", "Jingwei filling the sea" and "Dayu harnessing the water" were all born here.It can be said that Shan Hai Jing is the cradle of Chinese myths and legends.
Listening to the introduction of the Book of Mountains and Seas by the students, enjoying the two scroll paintings carefully drawn by them, and looking at the vivid Kunpeng and the wonderful white deer on the paintings, it seems that we are in the overseas fairy mountains and enter the magical scrolls with them. Reading the Book of Mountains and Seas helps us broaden our horizons, increase our imagination, understand ancient myths and feel the charm of Chinese culture.
We followed the students of Class G5-4 into the ancient temple and enjoyed the magical murals. We could not help but immerse ourselves in it and imagine it.The mural depicts the battle between Yan and Huang, which has a detailed and exaggerated description in the Book of Mountains and Seas. That is to say, with the victory of the battle, the Yellow Emperor made people admire him in terms of wisdom and ability. At the same time, it established his important position in the Three Emperors and Five Emperors and in the whole process of Chinese civilization.The students not only mobilized their creativity to show us the context of the whole war with cartoon images, but also called on us: everyone should live in harmony, let us work together to create a world without war!
The students of the Shadow Puppet Club at noon are ingenious. They have carefully adapted the classical Chinese "Jingwei Reclamation" which we have learned in our Chinese class. They have interpreted how the brave, kind and persistent Yandi girl was taken away by danger and how she incarnated Jingwei Bird Reclamation. The shadow puppets made by the students are also very exquisite, every setting, every change, every cooperation is so appropriate, worthy of the performance of the school shadow puppet club!The students also appealed to everyone, hoping that we can all strive unremittingly according to our goals like Jingwei! Strive to achieve your goals and ambitions.
Jingwei used wood and stone to fill the sea, and Nuwa used multicolored stones to mend the sky. Legend has it that in ancient times, the sky collapsed and the world fell into great disaster. Nu Wa could not bear the disaster, so she refined five-color stones to fill the sky, cut the feet of the gods to support the four poles, leveled the flood and killed the beasts of prey, opened Yin and Yang to eliminate adverse Qi, and all souls were able to live in peace. The students of Class G5-6 have a special love for this story.They have carefully created scripts, boldly imagined, carefully designed and produced, showing us the great image of Nuwa who searched for multicolored stones all the way and finally repaired the sky at the expense of her diligence, wisdom and tenacity.
The shadow puppets made by the students are also very beautiful. Those exquisite shadow puppets are made by the students by combining the Book of Mountains and Seas, restoring the famous mountains and rivers, gods and beasts in the book, and adding their own creative design. Every shadow puppet is a proud work! Let's also enjoy their excellent works!
Wang Zi also introduced the origin of shadow play and the method of making shadow play. We also showed us a giant shadow puppet made by Li Yi and Li Xiaoxue with their classmates. It is 1.5 meters high, and its head and limbs can be manipulated. We also invited junior students to experience the manipulation of shadow puppets! Hou Yi waved his hand to say hello to the students, and then split a fork to make the students laugh! Shadow play really brings us endless joy!
As an ancient traditional Chinese folk art, according to historical records, shadow play began in the Western Han Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Qing Dynasty, and spread to West Asia and Europe in the yuan Dynasty. The teachers and students of BCS have also contributed their own strength to the promotion of shadow play! Look, we also have a bilingual version of shadow play! The students of G5-2 brought the shadow play performance of the English version of "Nuwa Creates Man", which won the favor of foreign teachers!We also use this method of adapting performances to spread traditional shadow play culture and traditional myths, hoping that more people will like them.
This "Shanhai Jing" theme lantern shadow play project learning activity provides a stage for students to show themselves, which truly embodies the concept of "book and shadow play" integration. We also gained a lot from the activities and were filled with emotion. One minute on stage, ten years off stage. It is the hard work of the teachers and the careful study of the students that present us with such a wonderful performance of lantern shadow drama!
The colorful world is reflected in the lights, and the joys and sorrows of the world are expressed in the rap, which is the shadow play that has been circulating for thousands of years. With the passage of time, it seems to be gradually forgotten by people. However, this "quintessence" of folk art is the precious wealth left by our ancestors, and we must stick to it. The performance of the study report of the theme lantern and shadow play project of Shanhai Jing is over, but the students'love and inheritance of shadow play will continue..
