BCCSC/BCS 2023 "Project of Warming the West Persons" Donation Activities
The donation activity of "Project of Warming the West Persons" of our school was successfully concluded on November 10. The one-month campaign was initiated by the Beijing Tongzhou District Committee of the Communist Youth League and the BCCSC Committee of the Communist Youth League. The purpose of the activity is to call on students to donate clothes. It was sent to teenagers in remote mountainous areas such as Wulanchabu City in Inner Mongolia and Yushu Prefecture in Qinghai Province to help them spend a warm winter.
Four donation collection activities were carried out in the office of the Youth League Committee of Maple Leaf Building and the office of the Youth League Branch of Junior Middle School on Oct 23, Oct 25, Nov 1 and Nov 3. The school Youth League Committee encourages students to organize and donate clothes, stationery and books by issuing donation notices and public initiatives. The volunteers of the Youth League Committee registered the names, classes and the number of donors. While donating goods, some students also send encouragement and blessings to their peers in impoverished areas.

Elementary department organized a theme class meeting to let the students introduce the story of each item by themselves. Everyone worked together to classify and pack the collected items, as well as gather them to designated locations. It not only improves the participation of students, but also increases the significance of donation behavior.

The donation campaign collected more than 3900 pieces of clothing and 6200 pieces of books and toys.
After the event, the responsible teacher of the Youth League Committee contacted the Beijing Leyu Foundation. The clothes were recycled and sent to the hands of teenagers in poor areas, and the entire car was filled with donation items and love from the students for their peers in mountainous areas.

This activity has produced far-reaching educational significance for our students. It not only cultivates the excellent qualities of students who are willing to contribute and help others, it also enhances the students' sense of responsibility and mission to pay attention to people's livelihood and those in need.
