The origin of studying in China is what my parents said to me. My parents hoped that I would not confine my vision to Korea, but go out to see the wider world. So after I graduated from primary school, I went directly to BCCSC to study abroad.
When I first came to China, I could hardly speak Chinese. I had a passion for learning new things, so I tried to practice basic Chinese conversation every day. To a certain extent, I can communicate with my classmates, and my Chinese level has been improved rapidly. When I was in high school, I could basically understand all the contents of the course. Through hard work, I accumulated some effective learning experience.
I was interested in learning and worked hard every day in high school, but what I learned in high school was relatively difficult for me. So I often asked the teacher questions during the break or self-study, and reviewed the content of the class after class. After the first year of high school, I basically overcame the language barrier and began to teach the students who needed help in their studies. My academic performance was getting better and better, and I can get the first place in the class and the fifth place in the whole school in G12.
During the winter and summer vacation, I worked hard to learn IELTS and Chinese HSK. I got good results in IELTS and passed the Chinese HSK 6 test. As an old Chinese saying goes, "God rewards those who work hard." I think as long as you work hard, you will be rewarded.
When I first went to high school, I didn't decide whether to stay in China or Canada, so I made a two-handed preparation. The university requirements of the two countries are different, and the content of preparation is naturally more and more difficult. The two-handed preparation really added a lot of difficulties to me, but fortunately, I got great results. At present, I have not only received admission from famous Canadian universities such as the University of Toronto and the University of Alberta, I also received the admission notice from Beihang University, a 985 famous university in China. Considering the future development, after careful consideration, I finally decided to go to Beihang University for further study.
Before I came to China, I had a lot of worries, because I was still young and unfamiliar with China, and I couldn't speak Chinese at all. After coming to BCCSC, the worries slowly disappeared. I remember the first time I entered the classroom; many Chinese friends welcomed me. Whenever I encountered difficulties, my classmates helped me enthusiastically. It was the same in high school. If there was a problem that I don't understand, everyone tried to tell me and help me learn. Teachers have been taking care of and guiding me to grow up step by step, especially my homeroom teacher Xiong Yan. When I first came to our school, I was still a primary school student, and she began to teach me Chinese. When I was in high school, she became my homeroom teacher. She has been encouraging me for three years in high school, and I am the child who grows up at BCCSC.
During my seven years at BCCSC, I have experienced many things, encountered and overcome many difficulties. I have been insisting and not giving up. A word to everyone: "Don't give up!"! Believe in yourself! Anything is possible!
