UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge

On November 14, 2014, BCS students joined the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. This competition is offered by the University of Oxford in UK and is designed to get students excited about computing and computational thinking. The contest has several categories based on the grade level and more than 750,000 students from 30 countries participated.
Our elementary students MA Yunze (Mike, Grade 1 Class 1), WU Jianuo (Ella, Grade 1 Class 3), MA Lingru (Ling, Grade 2 Class 1) and YUAN Quan (Wendy, Grade 2 Class 1) and junior high students OUYANG Shuting (Susan, Grade 7 Class 1) and ZHANG Anqi (Kelly, Grade 8 Class 1) received a Certificate of Distinction with a score of 95, 91, 101, 101, 77 and 87 respectively which are in the top 25 percentile. Congratulations to our students achieving excellent results in an international computing competition. This is the first international competition we attempted for elementary and junior high students. The outstanding achievement of our first trial in the international challenge is an important milestone in the strategic academic vision for Beijing Concord School.
