Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada (BCCSC), with an area of about 110 mu (about 73000 m2), is located in Conglin Zhuangyuan, Tongzhou District, Beijing. BCCSC, which was established in 1997, offers dual Chinese and Canadian High School Diplomas and Canadian Post Secondary Programs. It is jointly operated by Chinese and Canadian education groups. The Experimental Middle School attached to Beijing Normal University is the Chinese division, while the two Canadian sections are the New Brunswick Education Department and the AKD International Incorporation. Since its establishment, a total of almost 10,000 students have graduated from BCCSC. The domestic and foreign university admission rate is above 98%, and over 83% of students have won scholarships from foreign universities.
BCCSC became a member of the Beijing Municipal UNESCO Club Association in 1997. In June 2003, the National Education Department of China appointed BCCSC as the only contact school for the new curriculum reform. BCCSC was one of the first schools cooperating with foreign countries to be accepted by the Ministry of Education of China in 2004. BCCSC was also amongst the first group of schools which were approved to incorporate their own curriculum.
Over time, BCCSC has received numerous awards, such as in 2009, BCCSC was honored as the “2009 Capital Safety Experimental School”. Additionally in 2014, BCCSC won “School with most Unique Characteristics”, “National Environmental Education School” and the “Recommended School by Study Abroad Magazine”.
In 2015, BCCSC became a member of the Round Square Association, which fosters additional student development beyond academic education. Moreover, BCCSC is one of the first Chinese schools which introduced the Advanced Placement (AP) to their high school education, offering college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. BCCSC was certificated as an AP center by the American College Board and approved by the Ministry of Education of China.
